The Michelin Guide's review
The Massif des Calanques stretches almost 20km between Marseille and Cassis. This range is made up of a craggy, dazzling white limestone landscape. Its outstanding charm can be ascribed to its creeks, deeply chiselled into the coast. Some are easily accessible by car, while others can only be reached on foot. Those that are not to be missed are the calanques of Morgiou and Sugiton towards Marseille, En-Vau near Cassis, and Sormiou and Port-Pin. Since 2012, the Calanques have been a designated a National Park: the only one to have an outer-urban location and combine both land and sea.
